artist frida kahlo

 hola! for the all hallow's eve celebration - we did an artist study on,,,,,you guessed it frida kahlo.

i set up stations where students could wander and learn about frida and her art .

we made shrines with sugar skulls, 'offrendas' - offerings of flowers, food, scents and rememberances.

it was a really great art party idea with students compiling the alters and we learned how to draw banners - a big hit.

earlier in the monthe we made plaster sugar skulls, and drew skulls to learn about the patterns and symbols iconic in calavera painting.

great art words came of this.....and color!
